課程概述 |
本課程探討文學這個內在的創作力，與外在的社會力之間的互動關係，尤其關注「媒介」在其中的作用。媒介看似一種客觀、無邪的技術，但其實媒介不斷逼近人類使用者自身、甚至與人合為一體，因此也干擾了人類感知、時空概念、社會結構，由此也改變了文學之作者與讀者的存在狀態，進而穿透到文學的書寫、閱讀之間。
課程將兼修理論、歷史兩個面向，並以四個主題貫穿：
（1） 文學社會學的基本理論：藉由反作者中心主義的思維，討論Jauss讀者反應論、Lucian Goldmann文學社會學、及至後結構主義（Barthes、Faucault等）對作者的批判思想等。
（2） 媒介及文學的基本理論：以Heidegger、McLuhan思想家討論媒介的物質性與人的存有問題，並討論media ecology以媒介劃分歷史階段的詮釋；
（3） 口說、印刷、電子文化的文學史：細論三個主要階段的文學表現，包括Ong的口說文化、Habermas、Anderson的印刷與國族主義研究，再至柄谷行人討論的言文一致與現代文學；
（4） 出版、書籍及閱讀史：以新史學脈絡下（如Chartier、Goody）的書籍史研究成果，包括出版、流通、技術等議題，引出文學史的潛藏運作等。
